DIN ISO 29990 – Certified Quality
in Education and Training
DIN ISO 29990:2010 (Learning Services for Non-Formal Education and Training) is a quality management system which focusses on the learning process and ways it can be improved. It relates to learners, learning outcomes and learning services as well as the provider’s competence.
The certification awarded by TÜV Nord confirms the high quality standards of the AWA AUSSENWIRTSCHAFTS-AKADEMIE GmbH and its continuous process of optimisation. It demonstrates the high quality of the company and its services. As of March 2016, the AWA is the only specialist provider of customs and foreign trade seminars in Germany to be certified according to the DIN ISO 29990:2010.
Scope of certification
- Training in the field of customs, taxation and foreign trade law
Companies certified according to the DIN ISO 29990 undergo an annual internal audit to ensure their quality standards and processes are continually improved.
Excerpts from the audit report 2016:
- “The way that the management system has been designed and implemented in the company is exemplary.”
- "Throughout the audit, it was clear that the employees had taken ownership of the management system and were actively developing it“
- "The AWA proved that it satisfied the requirements of DIN ISO 29990 without exception."

“Q-Siegel” – Certified service quality
The “ServiceQualität Deutschland” initiative seeks to establish a uniform quality management system for Germany with a focus on service quality. This seal of quality distinguishes business and companies that wish to provide a good standard of quality and design a system of continuous improvement.
Since April 2014, the AWA has been a member of the group of “Q” certified businesses and authorised to display the “Q-Seal”.
The certification has ensured that our employees now view the company from the customers’ point of view and are alert to the potential for improvement. The certification underlines and officially affirms the AWA’s high level of service and focus on the customer. We elaborate and update the plan for quality improvement on an annual basis. This plan is then scrutinized by an independent auditor. This monitoring process ensures that “Q”-certified companies are constantly developing quality assurance measures.
